Randi Franke, LCPC
Hello and welcome! I'm so glad you're here...
I am so glad you are here. Making the decision to start your therapy journey is not always an easy one, so give yourself credit for showing up for yourself in this way today. I have been working in outpatient mental health care for over five years. I have a passion for helping others discover their own identities and make realistic changes in order to live a more genuine life. In the therapeutic space, I prioritize a strengths-based approach, working from the mindset that each client knows their lives and their abilities best. I value humor and authenticity in sessions, and I hope that clients can feel heard and validated, even in their most challenging or vulnerable moments.
My approach to therapy...
No matter what you are struggling with, finding a safe space to explore your concerns is important to improving your mental and emotional health. Whether you are working through gender or sexuality concerns, past or current trauma, anxiety, grief and loss, or a major life transition, my goal is to help you improve your mental and emotional well-being. As an affirming, mindfulness-based therapist, I focus on working collaboratively with my clients in order to achieve their short- and long-term goals, while respecting each client’s individual experiences and background.
Specialties & Areas of Focus:
My experience includes working with individuals with anxiety, depression, addiction, LGBTQ+issues, PTSD, trauma, grief and loss, relationship concerns, and life transitions. As a counselor, I typically pull from Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy to best support clients. As a Certified Grief Informed Professional, I show up for clients who may be in the grief and mourning process while focusing on establishing safety and acceptance.
Education & Credentials:
- BS in Psychology & Sociology with a concentration in family studies, Lebanon Valley College
- MS in Clinical Psychology, Millersville University of Pennsylvania
- Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Maryland, LC12046
- Certified Grief Informed Professional, Evergreen Certifications, since 2020
I have a dog named Cooper and a cat named Sophie at home. They bring a smile to my face every time I walk in the door!I love to travel, plan trips, and try new things! Once, I went camel-back riding in the streets of Morocco. In my free time, I really enjoy catching up on my favorite TV shows, going for a walk with friends, or reading a great book (nothing beats a good contemporary romance!).
