Sherri Gorman, Administrative Coordinator

I am so glad you made it here, and I am honored to support you on this journey. Helping others has been a lifelong calling, and I feel a strong sense of purpose when I can connect with people and help them navigate life’s transitions.

I earned my MSW from the University of South Carolina in 2016 and became an independently licensed social worker. During my training, I worked with children in educational settings and adults in outpatient care. After graduation, I joined a hospital outpatient clinic where I provided group, individual, and family therapy to youth ages 6–17. Through this work, I gained invaluable experience in the areas of trauma, grief, addiction, behavioral modification, family dynamics, and the impact of mental health.

After several years in clinical practice, life brought me in a new direction. Following a move, the birth of my children, and another relocation, I chose to step back from clinical work to focus on raising my family. My role as an administrative coordinator at Serenity Counseling Services has been deeply rewarding, allowing me to connect with clients and serve as a welcoming first point of contact. My background in social work helps me empathize with each person seeking therapy and understand the courage it takes to begin this process.
