Gina DiCarlo, LCPC

Hello and welcome! I am so glad you're here...

I am committed to creating a supportive and inclusive environment, tailored to assist individuals in feeling comfortable as they navigate their emotions, build resilience, and discover their authentic selves. I take great pleasure in joining you on this transformative journey and look forward to the chance to offer guidance as you progress toward a more fulfilling life.

My education and experience...

Throughout my career, I have honed my skills across diverse settings, including community mental health clinics, crisis units, emergency departments, and private practice. I have extensive experience working with anxiety, depression and mood related disorders, communication skills, relationship and interpersonal issues, self-esteem, parenting challenges, Women’s issues, trauma and stress. I have a passion for working with young adults, guiding them through the transition from adolescence to adulthood. This involves exploring identity, establishing independence, and managing the complexities of this significant life phase. Navigating adulthood often involves the intricacies of forming and maintaining relationships. I specialize in helping individuals navigate relationship distress, whether it be with peers, romantic partners, or family members. Through our work together, we will explore communication patterns, interpersonal dynamics, and strategies for fostering healthy and fulfilling connections.

I began my therapeutic journey with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in History from UMBC in 2013. My commitment to making a positive impact led me to complete my internship at the Therapeutic Preschool and Intensive Outpatient Program at Johns Hopkins. In 2018, I earned my Master’s of Science in Counseling Psychology from Loyola University Maryland, subsequently obtaining my initial license as a clinical professional counselor, a credential I have held since September 2018. I also hold a certification in Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation from Georgetown University.

About my approach...

In our sessions, I take an active role, employing a skills-based approach that goes beyond listening. I actively teach strategies, aiming to help clients recognize their strengths and unlock their potential. My goal is to create a collaborative and empowering therapeutic environment tailored to meet the specific needs of each individual or family, fostering growth, resilience, and a more fulfilling life together.

Outside of my professional life, I find joy in reading, solving puzzles, exploring new restaurants, and traveling. A devoted dog mom to two French bulldogs, I cherish moments spent with family and friends.
