Ryan Russell, LCSW-C
Hello and welcome!
When the sands of life shift beneath your feet, it can feel hard to find steady ground.
Maybe you’re starting college, changing jobs, struggling with parenting, coping with anxiety or depression, or realizing life doesn’t look the way you expected. You might be navigating grief, relationship strain, or simply feeling overwhelmed and disconnected from your sense of direction. Therapy can be a space to pause, sort through the noise, and rediscover what matters most to you.
About my approach
As a therapist, my role is to help you slow down and make sense of what’s happening — to sift through the stress, organize your priorities, and leave each session feeling calmer and more grounded.
Clients often describe me as steady, genuine, and easy to talk to. I’m consistent, caring, and focused on meeting you where you are while empowering you to move forward at your own pace.
I work with individuals ages 16 and up, including older teens navigating independence and adults managing life transitions, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and relationship challenges. Many of my clients describe feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of who they are becoming. Using approaches such as motivational interviewing, behavioral activation, and mindfulness-based strategies, I help clients reconnect with their values, strengthen emotional regulation, and build confidence in their ability to handle what comes next.
My background
Before entering private practice, I spent several years working with children, teens, and families in residential and community settings.
Those experiences shaped my understanding of the complex dynamics that surface during adolescence and early adulthood and deepened my appreciation for the challenges parents face as they guide their children through those transitions. They also reinforced my belief that our early experiences often echo into adulthood — influencing how we relate, cope, and find meaning.
I’m passionate about helping adults make sense of how those formative years continue to affect their present lives and supporting them in forging new, healthier ways forward.
Who I work with
Whether you’re a college student charting your path, an adult trying to regain balance, a parent navigating change within your family, or someone coping with anxiety, depression, relationship conflict, or grief, I aim to create a calm, collaborative space where you can find clarity, resilience, and a renewed sense of direction.
Together, we’ll work to steady the ground beneath you — and help you move forward feeling centered, capable, and confident.
